This mural was commissioned by the Sarah Mclachlan School of Music to be featured in the main Student Lounge of the school. I proposed this design to them, along with the concept of turning it into an interactive mural that the kids could paint as well. I did the initial work of prepping the wall, and painting the outline, and then we had the students come in over the course of three weeks to paint different sections of the mural. When they were finished filling it in, I did a final layer of colour and black linework, and this is the final product! Click here for more photos and videos of the process!
This indoor mural was designed/painted for the electronic dance music (EDM) Youtube network ‘The District’ and ‘MrSuicideSheep’’s headquarters. This piece was also part of a Live Mural Painting event that I helped to curate while I was co-hosting the Vancouver chapter of The Design Kids (TDK). We curated the works of ten artists and invited them to paint the walls of their downtown office space. Click through to see more photos and video of the process.
This piano design is based off of my Synesthesia painting practise, a condition where I see colour when I hear music. I thought it would be amazing to paint an instrument with a piece of music the way that I see it through the lens of synesthesia. The piano was the perfect canvas. I chose to paint the song ‘I Need A Forest Fire’ by Bon Iver and James Blake, and this is what it looked like. The piano was placed by the Bank of Montreal, across from the downtown public library on Georgia st. Click through to see more photos of the process and final result.
